Product Description:

Northern Variety Self-Fertile Lophophora williamsii (Peyote) Seeds

Discover the rare and revered Northern variety of Lophophora williamsii, also known as Peyote – a slow-growing, spineless cactus native to the Chihuahuan Desert. This specific strain is prized for its cold-hardy nature and unique self-fertility, making it an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced growers looking to cultivate this sacred plant with fewer obstacles.

Our seeds are harvested from healthy, mature, self-fertile specimens grown in optimal conditions to ensure maximum viability and true genetic lineage. The Northern variety typically exhibits compact growth with deep ribs and beautiful, bluish-green coloration. Its resilience in cooler climates makes it a standout among peyote strains.

Features:

  • 100% pure Lophophora williamsii seeds (Northern, self-fertile variety)
  • Ideal for collectors, ethnobotanical enthusiasts, and desert plant lovers
  • Naturally self-pollinating – no second plant required for seed production
  • Cold-tolerant and slow-growing with traditional peyote characteristics

Germination Tips:

  1. Soil Mix: we sell our own custom seedling soil mix.
  2. Sterilization: For higher success, sterilize the soil by baking it at 180°F (82°C) for 30 minutes to prevent mold and fungus.
  3. Sowing: Lightly press seeds onto the surface of damp soil without burying them. They need light to germinate.
  4. Humidity & Light: Cover with a clear plastic lid or cling film to maintain humidity. Keep in a bright area out of direct sun or under grow lights for 12–16 hours/day.
  5. Temperature: Ideal germination temperature is between 22–28°C (72–82°F). A heat mat can help maintain consistent warmth.
  6. Watering: Mist lightly to keep soil moist but not soggy. Avoid overwatering.
  7. Patience: Germination can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. Once seedlings appear, gradually reduce humidity by airing out the container daily.

With the right care and patience, your Peyote seeds can become a long-lasting part of your botanical journey.
